RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and build a scalable data platform to store, process and query petabytes of data.
• Implement and deliver high-quality features built for speed, scale, and usability.
• Participate in the full life-cycle of software development.
• Ensure scalable, highly available, and robust big data platform architecture to meet service level agreements.
• End-to-end data processing, troubleshooting, and problem diagnosis.
• Performance benchmark, load testing, and code reviews.
• Contribute to the improvement of our engineering practices.

Requirements
• 5+ years of software development experience on large scale distributed systems.
• Expertise in SQL scripting, data warehousing, business intelligence, and ETL development.
• Experience with one or more distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, EMR Mesos, YARN clusters.
• Experience in implementing enterprise software: reliability, security, and high availability.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, etc.
• Experience building large-scale distributed applications and services.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data mining techniques a plus.
• Top-down thinker, excellent communicator, relationship builder and problem solver. Must be an active team player.
• Open-minded and excited to learn new things. Have strong opinions but willing to change with new data.
• Strong background in areas like databases, data processing, distributed systems, statistics or machine learning.
• Minimum BS degree in CS or related discipline, MS/Ph.D. preferred.
