RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose
The Swine Farm Manager is responsible for ensuring the carrying out of daily responsibilities in the caring for the welfare of the animals, including feed, water, and management. The Swine Farm Manager directly manages the team of farm employees and ensures they are working effectively and efficiently. This position will coordinate employees into highly effective team members to produce high quality animals in the most productive manner.

Main functions and responsibilities include:
• Overseeing and assisting employees within the farm to ensure that all daily responsibilities/tasks are performed;
• Ensuring the health and welfare of all animals in terms of nutrition, medication and environment;
• Performing various administrative duties:
• Data entry and keeping production records using dedicated software(s);
• Preparing all paperwork necessary within the farm/assigned department, e.g.: sow’s cards, registration forms, pen cards, feeding and medication plans etc.;
• Leading subordinates and overseeing their daily tasks through training, instructions and hands on assistance to ensure meeting production and financial targets;
• Developing and adhering to all standard operating procedures and ensuring that all subordinates do the same;
• Monitoring and resolving his/her respective departments’ maintenance needs and general facility cleaning;
• Maintaining and enforcing all bio-security rules and practices;
• Directly report to the General Director and Vice General Director about the farm productivity

Requirements

• Background in Veterinarian, Animal Science or equivalent
• Over 3 years of work experience of similar positions in a pig farm from 5,000 sows and 100,000 hogs or over; previous experience in the reproduction or farrowing department represents an advantage
• Proven experience in managing a pig farm/department and coordinating a team;
• Fluency in English language
• Able to work independently, as well as effectively lead a team;
• Good problem solving and communication skills;
• Dedicated and goal-oriented;
